NWA Mall Art Gallery Launches Soft Opening

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) – The Northwest Arkansas Mall Art Gallery has announced that it has a soft launch underway.

According to a gallery press release, it opened at the mall in June. The art gallery is a non-profit organization, operating in space donated by the mall’s owners, Mason Asset Management.

This large space allows us to exhibit the works of 50 local artists with offers of 2D works in many media, prints, pottery, ceramics, sculpture, metalwork, glass, fusion, mixed media and jewelry. We are made up of our artists, who volunteer their time to animate, oversee operations, raise awareness and chair the collaboration’s board of directors.

The art gallery also offers free and low-cost art classes to the public.

“We want to provide opportunities to create and learn for all ages and walks of life,” the gallery said in the statement. “We will also feature a permanent, rotating exhibit curated by public school art teachers showcasing the works of their students. Our hope is to allow children not only to visit an art gallery, but also to show their efforts. »

The gallery states that 100% of proceeds from purchases go to the artists, with no commission retained. The gallery’s current opening hours are as follows:

  • Friday, 4-8
  • Saturday, 12-8
  • Sunday, 1-5

An “open day” is scheduled every 2nd Sunday of each month. More information about the gallery is available here.
