ALPENA – Local artist Erwin P. Lewandowski was recently notified that his colored pencil drawing has been chosen for the Guilde internationale du réalisme’s Fall 2022 online exhibition.

The event is scheduled from October 20 to December 20.

Its entry, “River Rock Collection IV”, is a drawing of a slow-moving river in a large rocky landscape. The scene is from the Gooseberry River in Minnesota and features sunbeams breaking through the water and warping a collection of rocks below the surface. Shadows along the rocky edge, a hidden pool of rocks, and a number of colorful shapes add depth to this waterscape composition.

“The IGOR organization continues to be one of the best places in the world for realism painters,” said Lewandowski. “Every year they host three exhibitions and to be accepted into one is quite an honour. The event attracted over 650 participants from 20 countries and featured a diverse range of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolour, dry pastel, gouache, charcoal, colored pencil, pencil graphite, ink, egg tempera and scratch board.

Lewandowski and his wife, Mary, reside along the Lake Huron shoreline in Alpena. To learn more about the artist and his works, visit erwinplewandowski.com.
