Cameron McCubbins Art Exhibition at UUCOB opens with talk and reception

Posted 10:34 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Outer Banks (UUCOB) continues its longstanding tradition of exhibiting the work of local artists at its sanctuary. Cameron McCubbins will open his show on Sunday, September 11 with a talk and reception at 11:45 a.m.

Inspired by a trip to Peru a few years ago, McCubbins’ brightly colored work reflects the beautiful world of nature. There are photographs taken there and many here, including close-ups of the ocean. She also paints with watercolor pens and these photographs and her photographs are displayed in recycled frames that she buys, thrift stores and reuses with bright colors, giving them new life.

The theme of recycling is important to McCubbins and runs through his work. It also produces works of art from recycled elements. His company is called Pachamama, which means Mother Earth.
