10 Ways to Enter the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria’s Paint In Festival (COMPETITION)
One of Victoria’s most beloved festivals, TD Art Gallery Paintingwill return for its 33rd year this month.
It all happens on Saturday July 16, attracting over 30,000 visitors!
For one day only, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., artists will line up along Moss Street, from Fort Street to Dallas Road, to demonstrate their art and share their work with the community.
Celebrate up to 150 local artists and enjoy arts-focused community groups transforming Moss Street into a colorful art gallery.
Here are 10 ways to participate in the Paint In festival at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria:
DIVE IN DALLAS
We suggest starting your day at Dallas Road and heading to the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria (1040 Moss Street). Moss Street will transform into a living gallery with over 150 artists set up along the boulevard. To see the artists card to plan your visits and chat with local artists, see artist demonstrations or buy local artwork to take home!
VISIT AN IMAGINATION STATION & PET STATION
There are 8 Imagination stations to visit along Moss Street! Stop by for activities for all ages or treat your furry friends to a drink and snack at one of two pet stations!
Imaginations Stations are a one stop shop for all things Paint-In.
Need informations ? Drop by to see the festival map, ask questions of the purple-shirted volunteers, drop off trash and recyclables, or take the visitor survey.
GET LOCAL MEALS!
Refuel at various local food trucks and vendors dotted along Moss Street.
Additionally, the Moss Street Market will be set up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Moss and Fairfield. Look for sellers, such as: Langos By Louie, Lemon Heaven. Victoria Oven, Holy Cow Mini Donuts, Hazel’s Ice Cream, Martha’s Delectables, Mama Rosie’s Kitchen, Greek on The Street, Freshcoast Health Food Bar, Country Crepes, The Deep Friar & BCause.
GET TO KNOW THE ARTISTIC COMMUNITY!
Alongside the 150 artists, AGGV invited community arts groups to appear. Get to know Victoria’s vibrant arts community a little better by stopping by their booths.
Look for these groups: SUPPLY Victoria, Gage Gallery, PRINT Victoria, Our Place Society, Cool Aid, CiiAT Art Therapy, Island Illustrators Society, Bateman Foundation, Xchanges Gallery, SOLID Outreach, Ministry of Casual Living, BC SPCA, Garden City Electronic Music Society , Open Action Performance Art, Pandora Arts Collective Society, Chinese Painting & Calligraphy and Vancouver Island Bonsai Society.
TAKE A PICTURE IN FRAME FRAME!
Take a photo in the giant AGGV frame! Capture the moment with your friends, family and neighbors.
VIBE WITH LOCAL MUSIC AND DANCE
Visit the Family-Friendly Beer Garden (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.) for a varied show of local music and dancing! Check out all the big numbers at the Shampoo Hair Bar Stage located at 1040 Moss Street.

VISIT THE ART GALLERY GET A FREE TOUR
The Gallery will be open until 6:00 p.m. with entrance on donation! There are plenty of exciting exhibits to see, from a fashion-inspired show, Adorned, to Maud Lewis.
You can get a FREE guided tour from Maud Lewis at 12pm and 2pm
RELAX IN THE FAMILY BEER GARDEN
Grab a drink at the Family-Friendly Beer Garden, open until 6 p.m. and located in the parking lot of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria. Try one of the many beers from Lighthouse Brewing Company or refresh yourself with a cider from Sea Cider Farm and Ciderhouse!
GIVE TO THE CAUSE!
Did you know that the Paint-In is AGGV’s biggest fundraising event of the year? Gallery programming and the TD Art Gallery Paint-In would not be possible without the generous support of the community.
Bring cash to deposit in the bright yellow donation bins, OR, if you’re low on cash, simply text ART at 30333 to donate $5 to AGGV.
STAY HAPPY AND HEALTHY ALL DAY!
Have the best day possible! Be sure to drink plenty of water and bring your own water bottles, and you can refill your water at the CRD water station.
Portable restrooms are located at Dallas, Fairfield and 1040 Moss Street. You can also use the Art Gallery toilets and the Moss Street Market toilets.
We suggest you walk or cycle to the festival! There are bike locks at Central Middle School.
