Ruston Artisans Hosted Art Gallery in Support of Ukrainian Refugees | KTVE

RUSTON, La. (KTVE/KARD) – As part of efforts to support Ukrainian relief, Ruston Craftsmen curated The View from My Window exhibit on April 28.

The two-part charity show aims to support Ukrainian refugees starting with a collector’s reception.

The exhibition brings together more than 40 original works by Ukrainian artist Igor Letinsky, who is currently in Odessa, Ukraine, to protect his family.

Ruston Artisans owner Jidi Null says she’s honored to support this cause

“Anyone who buys one of these original works of art is buying a piece of history.” Say zero.

“They are saving for a lifetime of cultivation that could disappear before our eyes. So I think that’s one of the most important things I’ve ever been honored to be a part of. She added.

Null says that despite the horrific events still unfolding in Ukraine, she says Letinsky continues to inspire through her work surrounded by her family.

“He’s very honored, and he’s been so nice with his phrasing, and things like that. He likes the idea that it’s all been done. Says sucks.

“And he even documented with watercolors some of the horrible things they saw there.” She says.

Horrible things that ultimately translate into the soul and spirit of Ukraine right here in Ruston. Letinsky graduated from Odessa State Marine University and most of his work is inspired by different natural conditions.

Letinsky and Ruston Artisans will donate 50% of all sales to Ukraine through Rotary International and the Red Cross.

“Buy a print, buy an original, do something because people need that money. And more than that, just to pray for them. Says no one

“They were hit by bombs again today. We don’t know if we will see work again or not. So come and celebrate this culture, this very particular culture of Ukraine.

The second part of The View from My Window exhibition will be open to the public on April 29, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
