Deadline is approaching for Sunshine Festival artwork
SEQUIM – The August 1 deadline is approaching for artist requests to be considered to develop artwork for the Sequim Sunshine Festival 2023 poster and promotional materials.
The selected artist will be commissioned by the City of Sequim to develop an agreed-upon concept and final artwork to be used for promotional materials and merchandise to market and support the festival.
The selected artist will enter into a contract with the city, receive $500 compensation upon completion of the final work, and have a table or booth at the 2023 Sequim Sunshine Festival market. The city of Sequim will own the work of final art.
To apply, artists will need to submit an application and three digital samples of their existing work. The deadline for submission is 4 p.m. on August 1.
Only digital applications will be considered. To apply, go to https://form.jotform.com/221794280228054.
All entries will be judged by a subcommittee of the Sequim Sunshine Festival Planning Committee by August 8. Artists will be notified of their status by August 10.
The first Sequim Sunshine Festival was held in March 2020 to help shake off the winter blues and celebrate the approaching spring and summer seasons, organizers said. Festival highlights included the Sun Fun Color Run, the Interactive Light Experience and the illuminated drone show. A modified version of the festival was held in 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions. A full festival took place in 2022 and is planned again for 2023. There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities available.
